I spent my afternoon at the’ Nuclear Medicine' Department of the hospital. I had my bone scan done. This consisted of a small amount of radioactive material being injected into a vein in my hand.
They normally do the arm but couldn't get a vein there. After the injection, I went home for an hour and a half and had to drink lots to flush the radioactive substance through my system.
I then returned and they did the actual bone scan. It took about two hours. I guess it takes up to 24 hours for the radionuclide to get out of my system.
Hmm, maybe I should walk into a dark room now and see if I glow. LOL
Anyway, now I'm just waiting for the results. Which, I’m anxious to get back.

Well I'm glad the tests are done my friend I can imagine they were quite stressful on your body, having to lay there for hours while they did the bone scan.
But I am hoping that the bone scan will help you to get better, and I am awaiting the results of the tests too ((HUGS))
I'm so glad to hear that there weren't any complications during the test, Rose. We'll have to see about keeping you busy to keep your mind off of the waiting. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Well Ammiss you can always give me more poetic challenges or log on msn and chat with me. Steve, the bone scan wasn’t painful but very uncomfortable and I found it difficult to lie still.
